A poor installation costs twice: first in electricity consumption, then in repairs. At Mecatecnia we install residential and commercial air conditioning systems in Santo Domingo following a process that starts with a proper assessment of the space and ends with system startup and verification. We do not install equipment before understanding what the space actually needs. We work with all property types: apartments, houses, office towers, commercial spaces, schools and corporate facilities.

Installation types we execute

  • Wall-mounted split — the most common solution for individual rooms. We define indoor unit orientation to maximize air distribution and outdoor unit placement to minimize noise and visual impact.
  • Ceiling cassette — for spaces requiring uniform 360° air distribution without wall penetration. Ideal for meeting rooms, lobbies and retail spaces.
  • Ductless mini-split — installation without ductwork. A compact system that cools a single area or multiple independent zones from one outdoor unit.
  • VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) systems — for office buildings, residential towers and institutional projects requiring independent zone temperature control with high energy efficiency. We have installed VRF systems at IRD Business Tower and Carol Morgan School, among other National District projects.
  • Linear grilles and invisible slot diffusers — for residences and spaces where the system must integrate with the ceiling finish without visual interruption.
  • In-construction installation — we coordinate with architects and construction teams to define pipe routing and equipment placement before ceilings and walls close.

How we work

  1. Site visit — we assess the space, available electrical capacity and property conditions.
  2. Technical proposal — we define the right system type, brand and model, and the full cost before any work begins.
  3. Installation — we execute with quality materials and our own technicians. We do not subcontract installations.
  4. Startup and verification — we test operation, refrigerant pressure and air distribution before handing over.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a standard residential installation take? A 1 to 2 unit split installation in a residence typically takes 3 to 6 hours. Systems with multiple units or ceiling-mounted cassettes require 1 to 2 days depending on the number of units and the type of ceiling finish.

Do I need to upgrade the electrical wiring in my home or apartment for a new unit? It depends on the capacity of the existing circuit. We check this during the site visit. If the unit requires a dedicated circuit and the panel has no available capacity, we inform you before installation with the cost of the electrical upgrade.

Do you install equipment purchased by the client? Yes. We install client-supplied equipment. In that case we inspect the unit before installation to confirm it is appropriate for the space and arrives in good condition.

Luxury villas and apartments: comfort integrated with the design

For these spaces, selection should consider bedroom and social-area use, zoning, return-air placement and the owner's acoustic preferences. Grilles and equipment can be coordinated with ceilings and lighting, but a discreet installation must not restrict airflow or conceal necessary maintenance access.

Before finishes are approved, share drawings, materials, building-management restrictions and coastal exposure conditions. Quiet operation and humidity control depend on design, selection and operation: grille appearance or additional capacity does not guarantee them.

Plan comfort for your villa or apartment

Connect noise, zoning, humidity and finish decisions with a property assessment. Maintenance access should be part of the design, not an afterthought once ceilings are closed.
